Table Terminology:
- Year - The year DEF CON conference took place arranged from the current year (top) to the oldest year (bottom).
- DC - An abbreviation for DEFCON, DEF CON, or DEF CON.
- TBD/TBA - To Be Determined / To Be Announced.
- DC 1- DC 28 - DC 33 - Arrangement of DEF CON conference years, starting from its inception on the first day it was held (DC 1) in 1993 by the founder "The Dark Tangent" and friends, as a farewell party for his hacker friend.
- Hotel Venue - The hotel where in-person talks were held.
- Venue Location - The location (country/state/continent, etc.) where DEF CON was held or meant to be held.
- Theme - The event theme that serves to unify, engage, and creatively frame the discussions and activities within the villages.
- Days - The date range during which the hacker convention occurred.
- (Dx) - DEF CON cancellation symbol - In 2020, DEF CON 28's in-person Las Vegas event was canceled due to COVID-19 safety concerns and replaced with DEF CON Safe Mode, a virtual event held on the same August 6–9 dates.
