Soil Mod 'Lite' version? #84
Comments
I have no current plans for making such a configuration-possibility in SoilMod. However what you ask for, is somewhat possible, if you do not mind a little work-around and only play in singleplayer. The work-around is, that - after the midnight growth-cycle have finished - you execute the following console-command, which will set the entire game-world's soil pH-level to neutral:
Note: There must ONLY be one space-character between each parameter. |
Many thanks for taking the time to reply. I will give your suggestion a try. |
I know this is an old issue but I came across it and tried @DeckerMMIV suggestion of the console command and can't seem to get it to work, I've tried numerous different things and each time I get the "Foliage does not exist: fmcFoliage" I could be doing something wrong but I don't know what. I have tried on "Day 1" and also tried after a midnight growth cycle with the same results. Thanks for any suggestions. Or if @Mike3650 had it work for him? |
I use the paint console command from decker and it works like a charm, either with a define field or to the entire map (world). You may have some issues with console command. I also have the console extension mod, maybe could be reason why is working in my case. But I doubt it. Have you tried other command console and they work? Console extension provide you automatic commands when click in tab.

I'm at a loss. I have tried other commands and work fine but every time I try the "modSoilModPaint" i get the "Foliage does not exist: fmcFoliage". I have also used the tab key to get to it then enter soil_pH 7 world. Everything seems fine in GE. Also log states SoilMod: Foliage-layer check ok: (for all soilMod types). I've installed soil mod many times but this time I tried that installer which I thought may have been the problem so I installed manually and still the problem. The only thing I notice after saving the i3d is that all the materials (id's) are gone except weed and manure, not sure why unless it's that the texture file id's are the same for the ones that get deleted. But still paints in GE and in-game. Is this normal? I've looked at a couple other maps and do a search for those other materials and they cannot be found. I also tried that console extension with no luck. Edit: I've tried other maps as well and none to work. Also took out all mods except soil mod and the map and zzz_fastforward. I open the command, then "tab" key to modSoilModPaint "one space" soil_pH "one space" 7 "one space" world |
Hi Decker
I was wondering if it was possible, or if you had plans, for a 'Lite' version of SoilMod? The idea would be just to have the effects of the different fertilisers/manure/slurry for the nutrition and the sprays/herbicides for the weed control.
The reason for not having the Lime/Soil pH is that in the area I live in the UK it is not necessary to be applied to the land. As for the Water it rains a lot in the UK but in FS it doesn't which means having to put water onto the crops in an unrealistic way.
For me, and maybe others, this would make your excellent mod more realistic. Also it would give people another option either use the full version or the lite version.
I don't know how easy this would be to implement, thoughts?
