Weird, is this a thing that only started happening with tModLoader 0.11.6? There used to be problem where the mod would crash if it didn't get to the "setup content" phase, but I've fixed that a long time ago. (See #1) It looks like here it doesn't even get to "load", yet tModLoader still attempts to unload it after the cancel. That honestly sounds more like a tModLoader issue to me...
But anyways, I'm kind of in the middle of completely rewriting a large portion of this mod. The current latest code doesn't even really do anything that could cause a problem like this. So, maybe you could give that one a try. It's still got some bugs, it's not ready for release, but at least it shouldn't crash. :)
