I am using Linux Mint 21.2 x86_64, and after the Linux kernel update to 5.15.0-88-generic, Huion H420 cannot be detected anymore.

Typing xinput gives me this:
xinput
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ ELAN1300:00 04F3:3057 Mouse id=17 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ ELAN1300:00 04F3:3057 Touchpad id=18 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ HUION 420 Pad pad id=12 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ HUION 420 stylus id=13 [slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Power Button id=6 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Asus Wireless Radio Control id=7 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Video Bus id=8 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Video Bus id=9 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Power Button id=10 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Sleep Button id=11 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ USB2.0 VGA UVC WebCam: USB2.0 V id=16 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Asus WMI hotkeys id=19 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=20 [slave keyboard (3)]

The System Information is placed in this link since it's too long here: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?p=2390686#p2390686

I've tried other attempts to fix it:

  • I have two functioning USB ports, both of which cannot detect the tablet; xinput gives me the same as above.
  • The USB ports are checked to still be functional.
  • The buttons and pen work fine on Windows 10, and the tablet light still lights up when I press its buttons, it's still not a tablet problem.
  • The DIGImend kernel driver is at v11.
  • Huion's official page does not have Linux support for H420, the closest they have is H420X and that is a different tablet type.

Is there a way for my tablet to be detected?

I'm having the same issue, for what it's worth. Linux Mint 20.3 with kernel 5.4.0-169 is the only difference.
