We plan to use stage step size and stage position to do fully-automatic registration. The accuracy of this registration maybe low. But it should reach close area.
Since the stage slot size and glass slide size are fixed. We can calculate the number of stage step between stage origin (red dot) and slide corner (purple dot).
Then we can use:
stage step different between slide corner (purple dot) and tissue position (green dot).
One problem is that the slide corner is not WSI corner. Normally, the tissues doesn't fill the entire glass slide (some empty area on the boundary of glass slide). To reduce WSI saving size, people normally only scan the tissue area. Thus, the slide corner is not the WSI corner.
We plan to create a feature similar are global registration.
