Probably requires more feedback from cloud testing to find empirically a reasonable maximum

Suggestion welcome, I'm thinking roughly in the range 500-1000 as a default (remembering of course, that many of these many be submitting transactions from multiple end users, e.g. some REST API backend).

It is my understanding that typical Linux and Windows machines can handle that number of open connections comfortably.
