Hello, I'm forwarding this issue from the upstream issue because I'm requesting an update to conda's default channel:

mpi4py/mpi4py#529

Reason: mpi4py has no package variant for the default python version (3.12).

"conda install mpi4py -c conda-forge" works well with python 3.12 for me at Rocky Linux 9
