Hi @stepsahead1, Thank you for using Neve theme and sharing your feedback. As pointed out in the article that you shared above, the main point is whether content is hidden to fool search engines for some shady reason or it's hidden on purpose, and in our case, it's not hidden to mislead search engines, and it doesn't cause any damage to the SEO. I hope this answers your question, thanks! |

I have noticed that now Neve has two footers: one that is displayed on mobile and one that is displayed on desktop.
This means that If I add an outgoing link to the footer for desktop. This outgoing link will be hidden when I display the mobile version of my NEVE website since the Desktop footer is hidden on mobile version. I know the same practice exists for navigation menus but in navigation menus we usually don't add external links to the menu.
Could it trigger a google penalty because of hidden links, texts and images in the desktop/mobile footer? ❓❓❓
I wonder whether such practice could infringe the google spam policies. link here
Furthermore, with a hidden footer in the code, isn't it additional code that could impact performance?
I would like to say that a unique responsive footer that adapt mobile phones is a great choice for performance.
