Describe the bug
Trying to connect to a CodeTogether session from VSCode just stuck on 'Authorizing'.

To Reproduce

  1. Set up CodeTogether Session using Intellij IDEA
  2. Send URL to collaborator (using VSCode)
  3. On VSCode, choose 'Join Remote Session'
  4. Set "Use your own cursor"
  5. Click 'Join when ready'
  6. Wait...
  7. Wait...
  8. Give up and raise an issue.

Expected behavior
Session connects in a reasonable time - as it does when the session is started on VSCode and joined from IntelliJ IDEA

CodeTogether Host

  • IDE: IntelliJ
  • IDE Version: 2024.2.0.2 #IU-242.20224.419
  • OS: MacOS
  • OS Version: Sonoma 14.5

IDE Participant

  • IDE: VSCode
  • IDE Version: 1.92.2 (Universal)
  • OS: MacOS
  • OS Version: Sonoma 14.5

Additional context
Works perfectly when sharing from VSCode (same participants).
Tried this on both a work network and a mobile hotspot.

Workaround (if any)
Nothing found.

Thank you for reporting!

Do you mind confirming if you see this when joining the IntelliJ session from inside the browser using the session URL?

Hi, I was the one trying to set up a session with @adamcheney. If I recall correctly, we were unable to establish the session, whether by clicking the session URL in a browser or entering it directly into the VSCode IDE. In both cases, we were stuck at the "Authorising" stage.
