Describe the bug
Nobody can connect to me nor can I join a session from VSCodium on Windows 11. I have attempted this with another remote computer and another local computer (with the same setup) and only once has it seemingly randomly worked (at which point it worked as expected / well).

If I use the browser connection method it will work every time. It is also totally fine when using Intellij's products to connect to someone else or to host.

Occasionally when I restart VSCodium I will get an error about there being no service workers and just an empty tab for CodeTogether. Other times I can create the session, but others can't join and sometimes creating the session just does nothing.

Attempting to join another session is just as random, often it just blanks the join box with no action. Sometimes it just hangs on authorising (see screenshot).

From this page I actually have no idea how to turn debugging on / what setting to use? I set: "codetogether.debug": true in my settings file, but this does nothing (Debug Console is empty).

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Use CodeTogether on VSCodium 1.80.2
  2. Attempt to connect to someone else

OR

  1. Use CodeTogether on VSCodium 1.80.2
  2. Attempt to host and have someone connect from another IDE (browsers will work)

Expected behavior
I am able to connect to others and they are able to connect to me irrespective of their client type.

Screenshots
There's not really anything to show, the very best that it ever gets is waiting for others, but they will never join.

CodeTogether Host

  • IDE: VSCodium
  • IDE Version: 1.80.2 Release 23209
  • OS: Windows
  • OS Version: 11

IDE Participant

  • IDE: Any IDE
  • IDE Version: Any
  • OS: Any
  • OS Version: Any

Browser Participant

  • Browser: Firefox works (Chromium too)
  • Browser Version: 115.0.2
  • OS: Windows 11

Workaround (if any)
Use Intellij products to connect to others, sadly I don't own them all for it to be a practical fix - i.e. can't share my code with others.
Use VSCode perhaps? Though if I wanted M$ telemetry, I'd just use their Live Share.
