The New World synchronization features in Diretory should probably be deleted, as they are not used and no longer working.

Directory used to have access to New World in order to support a process of synchronizing AD user accounts with employee records. This was a manual process. A staff member went to a URL in directory to see the list of users in AD that did not have New World employee numbers. Also a list of New World employees that did not have usernames from AD.

We have been using the username and employeenum fields as the keys to link the two systems.

Some time in the past, the synchronize feature stopped working because the database user account we created for Directory was revoked. Either the password changed or the user account no longer has permission to the tables. In any case, username to employeenum linking has been manually by a staff member, rather than any automation.

Directory is probably not the place for this feature, anyway. This feature should be part of whatever new system we set up for account creation for new employees. (Also account deletion for terminations....and updating accounts for emplyee job changes)
