BYOD and CHOWTapeModel both either crash or fail to load whenever I use them in WINE, whether inside a host (FL Studio, yabridge) or standalone.
All versions of the Windows plugin that I tested ran into some kind of issue:
VST3: FL Studio hangs indefinitely while trying to add to the plugin database
VST2: Is recognized by the plugin database, but crashes FL Studio when loading it into a project
Standalone: returns this error:
Same behaviour when trying to load any of the above formats as a plugin to a linux-native DAW (tested with Reaper and Bitwig) via yabridge.
The plugins run fine in native Windows 10 and 11 on the same machine, and run fine natively in Linux hosts as a CLAP plugin.
The other Chowdhury DSP plugins I use (ChowCentaur and ChowMultiTool) run perfectly fine in WINE, both as VST3 and (in the case of Centaur) standalone.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Install WINE (9.8 Staging)
Install FL Studio under WINE
Install Windows BYOD under WINE and scan it in to FL Studio
Expected behavior
The plugin loads/runs without issue.
Desktop (please complete the following information):
OS: Arch Linux w/ WINE 9.8 Staging
DAW: FL Studio
Version 21.2.3
64 bit
Additional context
I get that this is a fairly niche problem, and probably just boils down to me having a missing library somewhere, but it would be nice to get some fresh eyes on it to help figure out what's going on.
