I see https://github.com/maxGimeno/wikimedia-docker does not exist anymore. What it the state of this issue?

The branch has been absorbed by https://github.com/CGAL/cgal-mediawiki-docker, but I don't know if the wiki is up or not. @lrineau ?

The new wiki is still not in production. The new one will be at wiki.cgal.org, but for the moment, even if the site is up, it runs an old snapshot.

I have updated the branch, to Mediawiki 1.31.

I think that is now ready for the deployment. I am not sure how to proceed.

Maybe:

  • warn the CGAL developers,
  • lock the database of the old wiki,
  • do an SQL dump of the old wiki, and reload it in the new one,
  • restart the new wiki,
  • install a redirection from the old URLs to the new ones,
  • inform the CGAL developers.

Well, before that, I should:

  • prepare an automatic backup script, for the new wiki.

And also:

  • setup the automatic start of the containers when the machine reboots.

What is the status of the wiki upgrade? There was a round of tests, but as far as I can see, deployment never happened.

(I guess 1.31 isn't that great anymore since supports ends in June 2021.)

Our tests failed (after a time, the web site turned offline), and I had not the time to find a way to debug that.
