I saw a lot of questions about how to edit the house value, and I just figured it out myself so for anyone who has been looking and can't find it: it's because that feature isn't in the latest release. You have to downgrade to an older version to be able to edit the house / home value.
I used version 4.0.1 to do this and did I by loading my save and then going to Mii Edit > Mii Equipment And Inventory.
