Is there any reason to put two exactly the same search forms on a page generated in response to no search results?

Hi @mmprep! I think that's an artifact of the "No Results" message using the same format as the content for the 404 page -- but you're right, it doesn't really make sense to duplicate that search box when it also appears at the top!

Hi,

It's been almost 10 months, but this little issue has still not been solved.
However, as well as many other issues that users ask you.
In general, for a long time there is a feeling of total neglect of labor duties of the development team, who do what they want, but not what they should. Although they are paid for it. Does Automattic's management know about it?
I'm sorry if it's a little harsh in places, but that's how it is.

Thus, a lot of people are asking you to maximize the Homepage Block by stuffing it with extra features to filter posts by a variety of criteria. This block is in the center of Newspack, because it is what determines the output of content. There are many such requests, and one of the once relevant ones was described here.
But instead you're doing all sorts of trivia, essentially creating the appearance of scope of work, but in fact the value proposition has been missing for a long time.
Good thing WordPress itself is going the right way, and its latest versions have effectively sent Homepage Block to its grave.
Be wiser, don't be lazy, listen to users.

Hi @mmprep - I can understand your frustration, but this specific issue has been a low priority for the Newspack product as a whole. We prioritize items that will make the largest impact for the largest number of Newspack publishers. We will be sure to post an update as soon as this finds a spot in our development process.

We also welcome pull requests if you have a fix for an issue. We appreciate your diligence and patience.
