Plugin removed from wordpress.org

Would you shed some light why this plugin was removed from wordpress.org, pending a full review?

& should I remove this plugin (if so, what would be good replacement)?

I hope the author, who is from Kiev, is fine. I decided to remove the plugin because it seems to be unsupported.
