How to help

Since we can't speak most of these languages, we will need your help to make FastStream accessible to the international community. Any help is much appreciated.

Option 1: Find and report mistranslated text here

Please leave a comment here, or make a new issue, with a list of mistranslated texts and their correct translations. We will then fix it ASAP.

Option 2: Create a pull request with translations

Default strings (in English) are located at chrome/_locales/en/messages.json. Translated JSON files should follow the same format. $1, $2, etc... are placeholders for data.

Alternatively, you can edit combined-locales.json if you want to see translations for all languages at the same time. Run npm run split-locales afterwards to update the messages in _locales.

How about using weblate for translations?

It's a very small percentage I suppose but my girlfriend is native in Romanian. She said she would be willing to help translate. I know we are supposed to edit the JSON file, but we are new to github. Should we download and edit it?

Yes that would work. Thanks!
