@jimjackii, someone else had luck using red: 3.24 and blue: 1.47. Can you try that and see if it works for day and night? If not, I'll add your request to the "to do" list, but make no guarantees when or if it'll be implemented. |

Try those settings at night with AWB off, and with AWB on during the day
(I realize you'll need to restart the service).

I tested different settings for WB and AWB. These 3 pictures at night: Night - Manual WB with R=3.27 and B=1.47 - the result is a very orange night picture. Night - Manual WB with B=2.45 and B=1.9 - its ok for me so far. Night - AWB - the picture is more orange to red than the WB picture above. At night the gain was manually at 5 or 6 - I had still experimented a little. These 2 pictures at day: Day - Manual WB with R=2.4 and B=1.9 - this is very blue. Day - AWB - it's ok for me. It's amazing how the images differ during the day and night with the same settings. I live near a big city - and unfortunately there is a lot of (orange) artificial light at night. I will now try to find an automatic switch between WB / night and AWB / day with the existing scripts. |

@jimjackii, you'll want the change of the settings_RPiHQ.json file to be at the same time as the day/night switch. Is it just the "Auto White Balance" setting that needs day and night versions, or also the "red" and "blue" settings? |

@EricClaeys I would leave the manual WB values fixed, ie. during the day the camera would run with AWB and at night with manual WB and the fixed settings, e.g. B=2.45 and B=1.9. |

Hi,
I'm new to AllSky and I have a system with RasPi 2B and Raspi HW camera running.
The system runs very well so far.
But there is one problem - (A)WB on day and night.
With AWB the day pictures ok but the night pictures are wrong. The night pictures goes to orange color depends on the many lights here in my area.
Without AWB and manual settings for the parameters "Red balance = 2.4" and "Blue balance = 1.9" the night pictures ok but the day pictures now wrong with many blue color. These parameters give me the best night results.
Is it possible to implement WB / AWB settings separated for day and night?
Thanks.
Steffen
