Support for Arducam IMX219 wide-angle camera? #3680

The imx219 is supported in the next Allsky release, which we're testing now. It has lower resolution than the 519 but roughly the same pixel size, so I expect the sensor is physically smaller. |

Any guesstimated release date?

FYI, it has a maximum exposure of around 11 seconds so probably won't make a good allsky camera.

If you agree to do a couple hours of formal testing of the new release, I can tell you how to get it. One test I'd like to see is to run with one of your cameras, then shutdown and install the other, but don't tell Allsky. It should notice the "new" camera and produce a message. |

I'd be delighted to.
Oh, by the way ... I did Software QA at places like Amazon and Apple for most of this century. Retired now, but glad to lend a hand.

You can't install a remote Website with the new release yet, but AFAIK everything else is working.

@kf6spf, Michael, great! I'm sure you'll find the bug that are in the code, as we used to say. Please take a look at the version log to see what's changed and hence what needs testing. To install the release:

I started my AllSky journey with the IMX519, which worked mostly fine. I saw Arducam has a variant that's a 140 degree wide angle, which I should would make a better lens. Ordered and added it to my setup, only to find it's not supported!
I'm not sure what the differences are (8MP vs 16 MP?) but are there any plans to expand the support to this camera?
