FTP upload help pls

Hi!
I need some help about ftp upload. I have a website, have also an ftp account. When i FTP from for example in Total Commander, it works. But directly from AllSky it does nothing, also could not find any logs (even when debug level is set to 4).

What i tried to set in ftp-settings.sh

PROTOCOL="ftp"
REMOTE_HOST="ftp.mywebsite.xx"
REMOTE_USER="[email protected]"
REMOTE_PASSWORD="ismypassword"
IMAGE_DIR="images" -> because when i FTP to my site through Total Commander, its routing me directly the web root, where i created a folder named images.
WEB_IMAGE_DIR="" -> What does this do?
Also a question when i want to upload keograms, stratrails, videos, etc to my website, how should i change the settings below?

@blacc01 Have you looked at the Allsky Settings page in the Wiki? It explains what all those options are for and should answer your questions (if it doesn't, please let me know so I can improve the Wiki). There's also a "Troubleshooting -> uploads" Wiki page that helps with upload problems, which are almost always also configuration issues.

I suggest creating an "allsky" directory on your web server and putting all the Allsky Website files there. It will then use the same directory structure as when the Website is on the Pi, which is what all the documentation assumes. IMAGE_DIR would then be "allsky"

Thansk, but its not clear which parameter how to use. I created on the website the "allsky" folder. How should i parameter than? Of course i checked the wiki but could not get clear.

@blacc01 Per the Wiki, you only need the WEB_*_DIR variables if you want to upload the files to a remote server AND copy them to the Website on your Pi. Since (I assume) you only have the Website on a remote server you don't need those variables.

Do you have anything else on the web server, or just the Allsky Website? If you have nothing else, then you can put everything in the root of the web server and don't need the allsky directory. However, if you have other stuff on the web server, then I suggest creating the allsky directory so you aren't mixing Allsky files with other files (sorry I wasn't clear about this in my other post). In the following comments I'll assume the Allsky Website is the only thing on the server so you put everything in the root directory.

/var/www/html/allsky is a directory on your Pi, not your web server, so you don't want to use that.

To put a file in the root of a web server, some servers require you specify "/file" and others (like mine) use "file" (without the leading "/"). The following comments assume you need "/file"; if not, simply remove the initial "/" from the settings.

If you copied the Allsky Website files to your web server using the same directory hierarchy as in GitHub, it will have videos, keograms, and startrails directories. You would then use:

I found this on the Wiki:

a) But not clear where the ~/.lftprc file should i place? On the target webserver? But where if the destination path is not / than /allsky_test curerently?

b) i use ftp ptotocoll not lftp.

Okay, i got it... :) option b. was the winner, i set the LFTP_COMMANDS variable in ftp-settings.sh and added ssl:check-hostname false. Now upload is working thanks!
