@astrocusanus Christof, in order to provide better debugging information would you please update to the latest software via the instructions Here ? Then follow the instructions at the Wiki page on Reporting Issues. That will set the Debug Level higher to provide more info. Some ZWO cameras behave in this strange way where increasing the exposure a few times doesn't change the brightness and then all of a sudden the brightness jumps way too high, and decreasing the exposure time doesn't do anything until all of a sudden it goes way down, and the cycle repeats. It may be related to the camera not getting enough power, possibly due to a long or poor quality power cord to the Pi, or a power supply not providing enough power to the Pi. If you have a powered USB 3 hub you can try that. Or a more powerful power supply for the Pi. |

Did I write chapter. I meant paragraph of course … Sorry for that.
I did not yet find the time to update the software however, I find the following lines in the log which could be the source of the trouble:
*
cannot create regular file '//image.jpg': Permission denied
*
Any idea about that?
Best regards
Christof

@astrocusanus <https://github.com/astrocusanus> Christof, what is the "second chapter"? The second paragraph? Or something else?

Hi!
I recently got my all sky cam online (astrocusanus.org) and have flicker issues. As recommended I shifted the histogram box away from the centre and resized it and could solve the problem partially. However, especially at dusk and at dawn I still have flickering. What puzzles me most is that during flickering the exposure times I see in the frames seems to have nothing to do with the actual brightness displayed. So I just would like to ask someone to give a look at my log file and confirm that I do not have a hardware issue or a bad configuration.
Thanks a lot!
Christof
