Currently, new visitors to the website are bombarded with a bunch of filter options, which often compels users to use features that would reduce the number of mentors or are easy choices (e.g. picking "ICT").

One way to encourage applicants to look through the list of mentors more carefully would be to have them select a few industries to get an initial list that would be more relevant (like how some social media platforms ask you to indicate a few of your interests). Building on this idea, we can probably add a few more questions to return the results in a more customised form (although this may require wrangling with Elastic Search UI or even replacing it entirely).

For this MVP,

  1. Adjust the Industries filter to be an "OR" filter (for e.g., a user selecting "Consultancy" and "Media" should be provided mentors that are from either industry).
  2. Create a modal which prompts the user to select from a list of industries (ideally listed as round pillboxes, so that they are less subject to first/last bias)
