Zoom level is not updating

As the title reads, the zoom level is not updating.

It's not being updated when pulling the variable data, nor is it pulled in the Google Map when viewing the field in admin. Although the later doesn't really matter I suppose.

I take that back, the zoom level is updated when zooming in with the plus/minus. How do we access the default zoom if changed?

I'm not sure I understand. The default zoom is accessible via the field settings, but it's really only for when the field is loaded the first time in the admin.
