Troubleshooting

- Uninstall and reinstall the plugin, and make sure it is on the latest version
- Open the log using
/xllog
and see if there are any errors - Make sure you can open the UI using
/vfxedit
- Make sure you clicked the "UPDATE" button
- Check that both the "Data Source" and "Preview On" fields are selected (see here for more information)
NOTE: this only applies to certain VFXs, and will not fix all issues with them not spawning
Certain VFXs are "static," meaning that they show up at a fixed position and don't move (like floor AOEs), while others are "actor" VFXs, meaning that they follow around a mob or player and are attached to them (like a weapon VFX).
If you replace an "actor" VFX with a "static" one, it will not appear by default. To fix this issue:
- Open the "Binders" tab
- Click the plus icon, then "Create"
- Go to the "Timelines" tab
- Navigate to the first timeline (named
Timeline #0
by default) - Select the new binder under "Binder Select"
