I have twinblades, and i took the vfx from Exquisite Cerberus Fang (gunblade), and simply put, when i set a binder to the emitters, the two options for the binder point "set to right hand weapon" and "set to left hand weapon" do not work, the VFX stays hovering in front of me, i have to instead use "left hand" and "right hand" but it comes with a lot of manual tinkering and other issues, like animation unsync.

Really really annoying bug or something...

After further testing, the binder points are correctly set on the weapon model i'm trying to use.

The workaround is using Penumbra with the exported ( unfinished ) mod enabled, doing so will make it when you edit in VFX editor, the vfx will be updated live on the weapon itself.
